YOU CAN ATTAIN A LOT OF INFORMATION FROM MULTIPLE SOURCES.
  • Guide Books – The old fashion way of extracting travel information on your destination of choice. They are typically 5 1/2″ x 8″ to easily pack and carry around with you while travel about. These can be purchased at a book store or a web site book provider online.
  • EBooks – Many of these are versions of the physical guide books, only you download them to your smart device for viewing while traveling about.
  • Audio Guides – These are downloadable audio files for your devices so you can listen to a description while walking around or visiting a point of interests.
  • Travel Blogs and Videos– Usually created by extensive travelers who are so passion about their adventures that they want to share their experiences. These travelers can provide extremely helpful updated information about the places they have visited. They can also inspire you to travel to places you may not have thought about visiting. Most videos are available on YouTube however, some offer no useful travel information. These sites are more about the person promoting themselves rather than the travel experience.
  • Travel Web Sties – These provide a lot of the same information you can get out of travel guide books. Some provide travel forums, travel assistance with booking flight or rooms.
  • Travel Forums – A lot of todays web sites allow anyone to contribute their travel experiences. The topics can have a range of recomondations for hotels, restaurants, airlines, sights, etc. Some sights also allow users to rank these places.
  • Tourist Offices – Almost every country, major city, popular tourist area and attraction will have local tourist offices. Nobody knows their backyard better than a local so these can be an invaluable source for the latest accurate information.
  • Direct and Aggregate Booking Web Sites – Airline, hotel, rental car and aggregate booking sites also will provide local information on many destinations they serve or your final destination. For more on booking sites go to our ➾ Booking On Line page.

Travel Guide Books & Web Sites…

There are many guide books available from publishers as well as online web sites that provide great information. Some are publishers that have guide books you can buy and take with you on your trip. In addition some also have web sites loaded with information but also have forums where travelers can sign up for an account and leave their own experiences and reviews for hotels, restaurants, attractions, etc. You can even ask questions and some travelers will respond to you with very valuable information. However be forewarn, some web sites only allow reviews by people who have booked through them. This eliminates ex-disgruntled employees or competitors going on line and making false claims in reviews. Other forums can be open to anyone who wants to write a review and this is why you’ll a five star review and then a zero for the same place. It is also the personal opinion of each individual’s expectation of what they should receive in the way of service. It varies from person to person and country to country.

Some web sites do not publish books but, will be very good sources of information. Some may also assist with your trip planning with booking flight and rooms.
