Beaches & the Sun

With Europe being a major peninsula and having multiple peninsulas extending out in all directions, it is practically surrounded on all sides by water. Only 12 of Europe’s 46 countries do not border a sea or ocean. That makes for miles and miles of coastlines and wonderful beaches. It is a no wonder that some of Europe’s beaches are considered the best in the world when compared to those in the Caribbean, South Pacific, South America and Asia.

During the summer months, especially August, Europeans flock to Southern European countries and their beaches to worship the sun. While some beaches are not as sandy as those in the tropics, it doesn’t stop them from being some of the most popular in the world. A beach where you can relax and have a view of a castle at the same time is special.
