Munich has one major airport and a smaller one called locally as Munich West.
MUC – Franz Josef Strauß International Airport – This the main airport and a hub of Lufthansa airlines. All international flights arrive here and there are non-stop flights available from 12 US cities. Located 30 km northeast of the city center transportation is easy with S-bahn trains S1 and S8 running frequently. There are directly bus services to other cities from the airport.
FMM – Allgäu Airport Memmingen – Located 110 km west of Munich serviced by low cost Ryanair to European cities only. Shuttle buses run between the airport and near Munich Hauptbahnhof.
