Went to the Florence regional bus station and hopped on a bus to Siena. The ride was just a few minutes over an hour.
Siena is perched on a hill and there are many streets to go up and down on, unlike the middle of Florence. The two main attractions are Piazza del Campo and the Duomo of Siena. The Piazza del Campo is like their city square and is short of bowl shaped. The main building is the Palazzo del Pubblico and it’s tower the Mangia.
The cathedral has baptistery, duomo, tower and crypt. The floors are inlaid with marble and beautiful. Lunch at one of the many sidewalk cafés that line the Piazza del Campo is for a memorable day.
Back to Florence and another full day has passed.
