Started the morning with a cappuccino, banana and pesto pizza. Yummy! No really yummy!
Started hiking from Monterosso to Vernazza a for an hour and half trek. Little did I know it was the hardest trail between two Cinque Terre towns. The 1 1/2 hours turned into 3. You hike way up the cliffs overlooking the sea on little stone stairs. the climd was exasperating but the descent into Vernazza was really hard on the old knees and they hurt. I thought I messed them up for the rest of the trip.
Vernazza is beautiful and after a short stay onto Riomaggiore but, by the Cinque Terre train. After a lunch of assorted seafood in a paper cone back to Monterosso. Yes by train.
On went the swim trunks for a swim in the sea, then a shower and back to dinner at the side walk cafe from the night before. Excellent food and wine again made for a long physical day in the Cinque Terre.
Packed for departure in the morning and fell right to sleep.
