Venice – St. Marks

Left the hotel this morning for a tour of St. Marks cathedral and the Dodges Palace. Our tour was small, only 12 people and our guide Francesca was very good. The bronze horses that belonged to Emperor Constantine were on display. Archeologists believe they were actually made by the Greeks before Constantine grabbed them away. When Venice conquered Constantinople, Venice took them and when Napoleon conquered Venice he took them to Paris. They were eventually returned to Venice. Sorry I have no pictures because they did not allow cameras in the cathedral.
Dinner at a restaurant along the Grand Canal at the Rialto bridge. At late night walk before retiring.
